Cruciform Nuclear Division in Woronina Pythii (Plasmodiophoromycetes)

Abstract: Somatic nuclear divisions in sporangiogenous plasmodia of Woronina pythii Goldie‐Smith were studied with transmission electron microscopy. During metaphase, each nucleus formed a cruciform configuration as chromatin became aligned at the equatorial plate perpendicular to the persistent nucleolus.
