Cryopreservation of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) sperm in 1.2 and 5ml straws and occurrence of haploids among larvae produced with cryopreserved sperm

Abstract: SummaryIn Central Europe, the challenge in soil tillage throughout the last century can be characterized as a fi ght against extreme climatic and economic situations. From 1800s till the 1970s, the main requirement of soil tillage was to provide suitable soil conditions for plant growth (moreover with fi ne structure). Both climatic and economic diffi culties were benefi cial in establishing new tillage trends, however overestimation of the crop demands have presumably been promoted by the deterioration in soi… Show more

“…Horváth et al . () reported increased rates of abnormal karyotype in carp produced from cryopreserved semen, but no differences in genetic variability of brown trout progeny obtained with fresh and frozen sperm were described by Martínez‐Páramo et al . ().…”

“…The results showed that the fertilization rate using the 1.2 ml (60% ± 2%) was similar to the regular 0.5 ml (55% ± 12%) straws or the fresh control (58% ± 18%). In the former study of Horváth et al (), large volume of carp sperm was also effectively cryopreserved and used for fertilization. High hatching rate was achieved with 1.2 ml straw (86% ± 12%) fertilized 10 g of eggs and using 5 ml straw (65 ± 18) fertilized 40 g of eggs.…”

“…Аналогічний результат був отриманий і під час запліднення відігрітою спермою як лососевих, так і коропових видів риб [6,11,17]. При збільшенні маси ікри для запліднення з 80 до 120 г необхідно було підвищувати й об'єм розмороженої сперми.…”

“…При цьому її запліднювальна здатність істотно знижувалася -з 65±18 до 21±14%. Таким чином, збільшення об'єму сперми риб при кріоконсервуванні знижувало її якість [12,17].…”
