Crystal structure of dichlorido[N-(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)aniline]zinc(II), C12H12Cl2N2Zn

Abstract: Source of materialPicolinaldehyde (1.07 g, 10 mmol) and aniline (0.93 g, 10 mmol) in methanol (50 mL) were heated to reflux for 1 h. After the mixture was cooled to room temperature, NaBH 4 (0.074 g, 20 mmol) was added slowly with vigorous stirring. Then the solvent was removed in a rotary evaporator and the solid residue treated with 50 mL of water.
