“…Conversely, the median maximal diameter of mediastinal B-cell lymphoma was 11 cm on pretreatment CT in 51 patients, 22 patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma, 23 and 11 cm in 15 patients with mediastinal malignant germ cell tumour, respectively. 24 Fourth, there was no significant difference in ADC and other parameters between histological types. G € um € uş taş et al 18 recently reported that the mean ADC of malignant lesions was significantly lower than that of the benign masses; however, their study included 26 malignant lesions consisting of non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs; n¼11), lymphoma (n¼9), leukaemia (n¼2), oesophageal cancer (n¼2), malignant neurogenic tumour (n¼1), and metastatic lymphadenopathy from breast cancer (n¼1).…”

“…In our study among the 5 cases of mediastinal germ cell tumors, one case was teratoma and remaining were non teratomatous germ cell tumors of the mediastinum. Tian et al in their study concluded that the characteristic CT findings of primary non-teratomatous germ cell tumors of the mediastinum include bulky, ill-circumscribed, lobulated masses, heterogeneous attenuation with low-attenuation foci and calcification on non-enhanced CT images and heterogeneous enhancement after contrast administration [13]. Predictive power of CT diagnosis of mediastinal germ cell tumor against histopathology diagnosis was tried.…”

“…The choriocarcinoma grows rapidly, causing compression of the mediastinum and adjacent structures. Clinically, the patient may complain of shortness of breath, chest pain, cough, gynecomastia, or superior vena cava syndrome or be asymptomatic [3].…”

“…Anterior mediastinal choriocarcinoma is an extremely rare tumor [1,2], with a number of distinct CT characteristics [3,4]. Most importantly, the choriocarcinoma grows rapidly in the mediastinum, with bulky necrosis or degeneration.…”
