A workshop on power system harmonics was organized in Stockholm in January 2014. On the agenda was among others a discussion on what are the main issues on harmonics at the moment and in the near future. Some of the issues discussed at that workshop are presented in this paper and its companion paper. In this paper the following issues will be addressed: the appearance of emission at higher frequencies (supraharmonics); the need for new and improved standards; measurement issues and data analysis.Index Terms-electric power systems, power quality, harmonics, wind power, solar power, suprharmonics, EMC standards.I.

A b s t r a c t -Thi s paper prese nts a di sc rete implementation of a complex resonant structure using a mathematical transformation for detection of symmetrical components, for the control of Neutral Point Clamped Three Level Active Front End. The symmetrical positive-negative sequences components of the grid voltage need to be separated to properly orient the control the converter. This prevents oscillations at twice the fundamental frequency on the reference currents on the synchronous reference frame, allowing for current tracking with zero steady state error.

Abstract-Power Quality has become one of the main measures of distribution network operation evaluation. Utilities and customers monitor the different PQ aspects for benchmarking and compatibility check. This is a second part of a paper that investigates a long term PQ measurement campaign. In this part, global PQ indices are applied to combine a number of PQ phenomena indices into one number that represents the PQ performance of a site. Two global PQ indices are applied on 64-week PQ measurements of 8 sites. The indices are compared in terms of the final rank of sites. Different levels of flexibility are introduced to the indices to consider a variable importance or priority of the phenomena and sites.
