Cytoprotective Activity of Ethanol Fraction of Coleus Amboinicus Lour. Leaves Against Vero Cells Induced by H2o2

Abstract: Objective: The objective of this study is to assess the cytoprotective activity of Coleus amboinicus Lour. leaves ethanol fraction (EtF) in Vero cells which induced by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).Methods: Cytoprotective activity was determined using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) method, apoptosis activity was analyzed by flow cytometry, and expression of radical spesies oxygen (ROS) was observed by imunocytochemistry.Result: The EtF (100 μg/mL) was showed the highest percent viab… Show more

“…In a study by Sahrial and Solfaine (2019) [ 332 ], the authors noted that the ethanolic extract of C. amboinicus administered to Wistar rats with cisplatin-induced nephropathy inhibited pathological lesions by regulating the renal expression of TGF-1β in areas containing renal glomeruli and tubules. Furthermore, C. amboinicus has shown to exhibit moderate to high antibacterial [ 66 , 67 , 333 , 334 ], antioxidant/cytoprotective [ 333 , 335 , 336 ], and anticancer [ 336 , 337 ] activity.…”
