“…The study concluded that the components of A. millefolium act by different mechanisms sequestering reactive oxygen species. Additionally, several studies have confirmed that the pharmacological properties of A. millefolium are attributed mainly to the presence of favonoids as a result of their action against free radicals [19], and these polyphenols interfere not only with the propagation but also with the formation of free radicals both by chelating transition metals and by inhibiting enzymes involved in the initiation reaction [20]. Administration of methanol extract of A. millefolium led to significant increase in the levels of white blood cells that may have immune boosting properties.…”
