D1 string dynamics in curved backgrounds with fluxes

Abstract: We study various rotating and oscillating D-string configurations in some general backgrounds with fluxes. In particular, we look for solutions to the equations of motion of various rigidly rotating D-strings in AdS 3 background with mixed flux, and in the intersecting D-brane geometries. We find out relations among various conserved charges corresponding to the breathing and rotating D-string configurations.

“…Also, well known Neumann-Rosochatius dynamical model of strings has been generalised to AdS 3 × S 3 with NS-NS fluxes together with relevant classical solutions [59,60,61] and one-loop quantization [62] being elucidated in a large number of papers. Moreover, probe D1 strings exploring the mixed flux background have been discussed in [63]. Minimal surfaces for this background has been discussed in detail too [51,64].…”

“…Later giant magnon [45] and single spike [46] like solutions were obtained from the D1-string rotating in R × S 2 and R × S 3 using Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) action [47]. We have now a better understanding of the WZW D-branes from both the gravity side as well as the dual CFT side [48][49][50][51][52][53][54][55]. The integrability of D1 string on the group manifold with both NS-NS and RR fluxes is shown with the condition that Ramond-Ramond zero forms and dilaton should be constants only at the bosonic level [56] .…”
