With the passage of time and the tide of globalization, the city of Muntok has witnessed significant development. However, studies of Muntok relating to political changes in the last 10 years are still uncommon. This study focuses on the impact of political globalization on the interaction of Chinese and Malay ethnic communities in Muntok, Bangka. This study used qualitative approach with a literature or library study methodologies. According to the findings of the study, political globalization has the following effects: 1) increasing the use of public rights votes in general elections; 2) increasing the public vote of ethnic Chinese and Malay in political elections; and 3) increasing the involvement of Malaysians and Chinese in public elections because globalization does not arrange the vote for Chinese people. Many Malay people also choose the Tionghoa people. Finally, 4) there was a balance in the regional government in Muntok Bangka West between 2016 and 2019 (H. Parhan Ali (Malay ethnic) as Bupati and Markus (Tionghoa) as Deputy Bupati) and 2021–2026 (H. Sukirman as Bupati and Bong Ming Ming (Tionghoa) as Deputy Bupati). In conclusion, the significance of political globalization for the Muntok Bangka society is favorably evaluated, and the consequences of ethnic misunderstanding because of the Muntok society’s political globalization can be developed in historical learning material. Indonesia is still facing various environmental problems due to increasingly massive and inappropriate mining activities. Therefore, land restoration is a basic practice in the rehabilitation of mining damage. This study aims to examine empirically the reality of the relationship between the community and PT RBT and strengthen social capital in carrying out post-mining land restoration activities. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and a literature study. The results showed that social relations became the main indicator in supporting the formation of trust, cooperation, and networks. Elements of social capital are packaged in the form of community participation in various post-mining land restoration activities. This is done to minimize the level of environmental damage that has increased massively, marked by the ex-mining pit that occurred in Bangka Belitung. The relationships formed are certainly expected to provide feedback for villages that run post-mining land restoration programs. This study concludes that the existence of bonding and bridging social capital that works well will facilitate the continuity of the post-mining land restoration programs.

Massive tin mining activities in Bangka Belitung Islands Province have caused a detrimental effect that reduces the livelihoods of the people living around the mining area. On the other hand, there has been a shift in livelihoods from agrarian communities to mining communities that increase anxieties on the livelihoods in the future. The purpose of this study is to obtain information about the sustainability of the switched people livelihoods which concentrated in villages around the tin mining area. The study utilized qualitative methods, collected data through interviews and focus group discussions on community leaders, village government officials, and mining actors to analyze aspects of vulnerability and household livelihood strategies based on a sustainable livelihood framework. The results of the study reveal that miner groups that work with mining owners and tin artisanal miners have the most vulnerable livelihood resources because their main source of income from tin mining activities is only able to meet their daily needs. Furthermore, the group has very limited land and social relationships that rely solely on elements of kinship and moneylender services when faced with financial difficulties. However, most of these households began to respond to the end of the post-tin economy in the pepper plantation and trade sub-sector. In addition, business opportunities in the sub-sector of livestock, horticulture, and capture fisheries for coastal villages have been utilized by mining owners as the alternative livelihoods.
