Abstract: The Cu(I)‐chiral diphosphine (BINAP) system was found to efficiently catalyze the hydrosilylation of aryl alkyl ketones with excellent enantioselectivities by using phenyl(methyl)silane as stoichiometric hydride source.

Syntheses, Vibrational Spectra, and Normal Coordinate Analysis of Halogenonitrosylruthenates [Ru(NO)ClnBr 5−n ] 2− , n = 0-5, and the Crystal Structure of (CH 2py2 )[Ru(NO)ClBr 4 ].-Single crystal XRD results for the title compound (III) reveal that the chlorine atom is in trans position to the nitrosyl group. (III) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1 /c with Z = 4. The low temp. IR and Raman spectra of (I) and five compounds (II), separated by ion exchange chromatography, are assigned by normal coordinate analysis. Observed and calculated frequencies are in good agreement. The valence force constants f d for NO (13.86-13.93 mdyn/Å) and RuN (5.43-5.49 mdyn/Å) are nearly independent of the geometrical arrangement of the halogen ligands.

The crystal structure of the coordination compound Na[RuNOCl 3 (H 2 O)OH]2H 2 O is reported. The complex is studied by IR and NMR spectroscopy, powder and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Crystallographic data determined for H 7 Cl 3 NNaO 5 Ru is: a = 6.648(2) Å, b = 8.216 (7) Å, c = 10.063(3) Å, D = 89.75(6)q, E = 70.96(2)q, J = 78.76(5)q, V = 967.9(2) Å 3 , P1 space group, Z = 4, d x = 2.165 g/cm 3 .
