Decreased Alpha-Fetoprotein Concentration in Neonatal Pigs after Injection of Adult Swine Serum

Abstract: Repeated intraperitoneal injections of adult swine serum lead to reduced concentrations of α-fetoprotein (AFP) in neonatal pigs. This is interpreted to be due to suppression of the synthesis of AFP by a factor(s) present in the serum of adult swine although its mode of action remains unclear.
