AbstractsIn this paper, the distribution characteristics of salt contaminants with the distance from sea in South Korea were investigated to evaluate the suitability of KEPCO's design standard for contamination. To measure the equivalent salt deposit density (ESDD), conventional brush wiping method was used for about 150 sites, most of which were distributed near to coast. Because the measuring period is short, the measured value is much lower than that of the design standard. So, the data should take the statistical treatment, such as regression, time series, and so forth. But, with the consideration for the number and property of data, normalizing method was adapted in this study. From the result of statistical analysis, we could know the distribution characteristics of salt contaminants with the distance from the East and West Sea. In the past investigation, with the consulting for the research result of Japan, the accumulation property of contaminant has been ignored. But, through the analysis for the precipitation pattern and actual measurement, we could set the range of accumulation factor for salt pollution. And, from the analysis for accident, we could confirm the validity of the result of this investigation, the degree of contamination with the distance from sea.
