Dentine sialophosphoprotein signal in dentineogenesis and dentine regeneration

et al.

Abstract: Dentineogenesis starts on odontoblasts, which synthesise and secrete non-collagenous proteins (NCPs) and collagen. When dentine is injured, dental pulp progenitors/mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can migrate to the injured area, differentiate into odontoblasts and facilitate formation of reactionary dentine. Dental pulp progenitor cell/MSC differentiation is controlled at given niches. Among dental NCPs, dentine sialophosphoprotein (DSPP) is a member of the small integrin-binding ligand N-linked glycoprotein (SI… Show more

“…BMP2 is a non-collagenous protein found in the dentin matrix that regulates odontogenic differentiation and mineralization during dentinogenesis [7]. DSPP is also a specific marker for odontogenic differentiation and is crucial for dentinogenesis and regeneration of the dentin-pulp complex [39][40][41].…”

“…DSPP and DMP1, two major phosphoproteins of non-collagenous proteins, can regulate dentin regulation ( Liu Z. et al, 2021 ). DSPP and DMP1 are highly seen in odontoblast and dentine during tooth development and formation ( Liu M.M. et al, 2021 ).…”

“…DSPP is also a member of SIBLING protein family that is highly expressed in odontoblasts and dentine. 35 Odontogenic differentiation of hDPSCs in the RS-DN3131-hDPSC complex was increased close to the dentin wall. 36 Collagen I is the main ECM component of pulp tissue.…”
