“…A recent study identified the interventions provided by advanced nurse practitioners to older people in different settings with a standardized nursing language (NIC) to determine the patterns of the developed interventions. Its results showed 73 interventions extracted from the NIC and among them are the interventions validated in the present study (Garcia‐Mayor et al., ). Other studies show that for successful aging both the health promotion interventions and the health rehabilitation interventions are needed, but the problems due to old age are not only physical health problems.…”

“…This area of professional development has been described in the literature as essential for increasing time to readmission, associated comorbidities or death, reducing readmissions and healthcare costs, while maintaining quality of life and functioning, by providing coordination and continuity of healthcare as patients transfer between different locations. 36 Moreover, the leadership and knowledge brokering component 37 understood as APN capabilities for improving evidence-based practice accessibility and consumption in their clinical context of reference, also emerges as an important area of competence ("Research and Evidence-Based Practice" with "Clinical and Professional Leadership" and "Professional Autonomy"), as has been previously reported in different APN areas of practice. 38 One arguable point in the final eight-factor model proposal is the lack of a domain for 'advocacy', consistently identified as essential to APNs.…”

“…In a review looking into the most frequent interventions performed by APN nurses, it was reported that the management and collaboration tasks within primary care or across sectors made up about a third of APN nurses' total work tasks, though in different areas. The areas that are described as collaborative areas for APN nurses to handle are, for example, challenges for the patient where there are social and/or cultural agendas, but also challenges where the advanced practice plays out in relation to organisational and regulatory challenges for the service user [35]. Furthermore, in alignment with our map, studies describe that a central role of APN nurses is to manage patient care.…”
