Design and Analysis of Novel Hybrid Multi-Objective Optimization Approach for Data-Driven Sustainable Delivery Systems

Abstract: This study presents a novel two-stage solution method designed for sustainable last-mile delivery systems in urban areas. A proposed hybrid solution methodology includes multi-criteria decision-making system to select the most efficient logistics providers by considering different performance indicators, and a mixed-integer linear optimization model for last-mile cargo distributions by drones within metropolitan areas. We present a multi-objective modeling approach by considering time windows for customer serv… Show more

“…However, if we can maintain the same productivity, while significantly reducing energy consumption, the energy-aware production scheduling will be embraced by the industries. is type of 8 Mathematical Problems in Engineering mathematical approach is known as epsilon-constraint method, where one of the objectives is taken as a single objective function and the others are included into a model as constraint [51]. Tables 7 and 8 attempt to meet this demand by comparing the traditional scheduling and energy-aware scheduling.…”

“…Therefore, a suitable charging strategy is required to extend the flight time of drones. The charging strategy mainly considers the placement of optimal number of CSs to maximize coverage and drone flight time, and minimize the delivery time and system deployment cost [ 43 ].…”

“…The results reveal that management leadership and government policies are the two significant predictors for big data analytics in sustainable practices. Further, Resat (2020) presented a sustainable approach for the last-mile delivery system. The study used an integrated approach of the MCDM method and a mixed-integer linear programming model for last-mile delivery in the metropolitan city.…”
