“…The tunnel used in this study is a road tunnel in Korea consisting of two parallel tunnels, (Fig. 11) which was completed in 2009 (Min et al 2008). The total length of "tunnel A" is 1910m, and "tunnel B" is 1900m long.…”

“…It should also be noted that consideration of geologic uncertainties is one of the major features of the DAT, which can easily be modeled in the DAT by defining geologic parameters such as lengths and sequences of areas, zones, ground parameters (e.g., rock type) and their states (e.g., schist, gneiss and granite), probabilistically. In fact, the uncertainties in geology were considered in the previous phases of this study performed for the same project (Min et al 2008). The reason for not including geologic uncertainties in the example presented here is to provide a clear picture on the effect of construction process uncertainties.…”

“…Updating the simulation with unplanned conditions is also possible (Haas and Einstein, 2002). DAT was applied to support tunnel projects in Asia and Europe (Min et al, 2008;Moret et al, 2009). Weigl (1993) presented another, quite specialized approach.…”
