Design and implementation of wireless system for vibration fault detection using fuzzy logic

Abstract: This paper aims at constructing the wireless system for fault detecting and monitoring by computer depending on the wireless and fuzzy logic technique. Wireless applications are utilized to identify, classify, and monitor faults in the real time to protect machines from damage .Two schemes were tested; first scheme fault collected X-Y-Z-axes mode while the second scheme collected Y-axis mode, which is utilized to protect the induction motor (IM) from vibrations fault. The vibration signals were processed in th… Show more

“…Among best practices in Industry 4.0 we find PHM, which can be summarized into the estimation of the current health status of a component or equipment [16], and the subsequent prediction of remaining useful life (RUL) with the aim of optimizing maintenance interventions [17]. The PHM concept is often connected to the predictive maintenance (PdM) philosophy, which can be viewed as the application of sensors and analytic to predict equipment's failures and prevent them doing maintenance before the failure occurs [18].…”

“…Recently, several researchers have proposed the IoT-based condition monitoring of induction machines [12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20]. Jeyalakshmi et al [13] (2020) have developed a smart motor condition monitoring system to monitor the vibration and temperature of the motor using MyRio software platform.…”

“…Lilo et al [15] (2020) have proposed a wireless system for detecting and monitoring the faults of induction motors. Further, the authors have used a FL controller and showed the results that the proposed system detects at a faster rate and reduced the maintenance costs.…”
