In this study, an assembly fixture called a "Yoke" that is used to assemble different engine types is analyzed. The new engine has some unique parts which cannot be accommodated on the yoke during the assembly. The fouling part is the outlet water pipe which fouls one of the supporting blocks during the assembly. Therefore, the aim of the present work is to effectively accommodate the fouling parts without much modifying the components by using ANSYS. In order to adapt the changing design of new engines inexpensively, this fixture has to be analyzed to identify regions where stress is concentrated. With the aid of the simulation programme ANSYS, this study successfully illustrates the integration of the finite element methods to solve complicated issues quickly. These calculations are exceedingly time-consuming to complete manually, thus simulation software like ANSYS is utilized to complete them more quickly and correctly. The results have been validated by using its mathematical model. The most secure and cost-effective modification for the yoke would be found after thorough investigation in order to successfully accommodate the fouling or clashing elements during installation.

Se desarrollo un dispositivo de sujeción hidráulica para el proceso de brochado de Brackets usados en los sistemas de frenado de automóviles, que permite reducir la variación del proceso de corte al mejorar el sistema de sujeción y con ello limitar la deformación de la pieza luego de haber sido procesada. Con este concepto de dispositivo es posible mejorar las condiciones del proceso de producción, como lo son: velocidad de corte, reducción de tiempo ciclo, rendimiento de la operación, reducción de costo de scrap, y reducción de tiempo muerto por sobre ajuste de proceso y cambio de modelo. Adicional, se hizo el desarrollo de un sistema de detección de pieza presente que permite captar cuando una pieza no es colocada correctamente en el dispositivo antes de iniciar el ciclo de corte, con esto es posible detectar fallas en el proceso que representen un riesgo para la operación. Durante la etapa de diseño se realizó una simulación del proceso de maquinado en condiciones extremas y condiciones ideales para medir la deformación de la pieza y con esto obtener los parámetros adecuados de corte para la puesta en marcha del dispositivo de sujeción. Para la validación del modelo, se realizó un estudio de habilidad de proceso Cpk y Ppk (acorde a los requerimientos de cliente) para evaluar que el nuevo proceso es eficiente y se encuentra bajo control.

This research paper presents an experimental investigation using the Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) for machining the EN31 material. The study looks at how different input factors, including feed, speed, and cut depth, affect the output factors, like the material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (SR). The Taguchi method is used as the optimization technique to identify the optimal combination of input parameters that lead to maximum MRR and minimum SR. The objective of the study is to establish the relationship between input and output parameters and to offer a workable strategy for machining process optimization. The study's findings will advance our understanding of EN31 material machining with VMCs and have real-world implications for the machining sector.
