Design and performance analysis of metallic posts coupled SIW-based multiband bandpass and bandstop filter

Abstract: This article consists of the design of single band bandpass filter, multiband bandpass filter, and multiband bandstop filter based on a substrate integrated waveguide technique. First, proposed structure of single band bandpass filter has been designed with the combination of inductive and capacitive metallic posts at 14.8 GHz center frequency of Ku band application. Moreover, the tuning scheme for frequency has been also demonstrated for the same band. Similar concept has been applied for the design of multib… Show more

“…Low-pass and bandpass filters are generally used to suppress higher order harmonics or spurious signal in microwave and millimeter wave system [1,2]. The realization of these components should be such that they provide high performance with compact size and low cost.…”

“…Volumetric source nature and high radiation efficiency of lowprofile Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) makes it suitable for wideband applications, especially in Microwave and Millimeter wave range where a Patch antenna shows more losses [1][2][3][4]. Satellite communication and Radar applications prefer circularly polarized antenna (CP) over linearly polarization as it provides flexibility to maintain the exactly same polarization for transmitting and receiving antenna as needed in linearly polarization.…”

“…Substrate integrated waveguide (SIW), originally proposed in 2003 [1], has been widely concerned. Because of its high quality factor, low insertion loss, low radiation loss, SIW has been extensively applied to microwave circuits [2], especially in the design of microwave band-pass filters, and multiband filters [3][4][5]. To design dual-band SIW filters, one of the most classical methods is coupling matrix theory [6][7][8].…”

“…In recent years, it is being used as an emerging technique for dielectric characterization of substrate and thick film materials [1]. Whereas, its application for nondestructive evaluation of biomaterials has also been reported, such as for; crude-oil [2], soil samples [3], and leaves [4]. However, a limited amount of literature has been reported for food materials, where it has been used only for some grains [5][6][7].…”
