Design and simulation of novel amplifier‐based mixer for ISM band wireless applications

Abstract: Summary This letter describes a low‐voltage low‐power (LV‐LP) 2.4‐GHz mixer for Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) band wireless applications. The approach is based on a two‐stage amplifier, and the Gilbert switch stage is inserted between the two amplifier stages. The proposed amplifier‐based mixer delivers a remarkable conversion gain of 13 dB with a local oscillator (LO) power of 7 dBm, while consuming only 1.05‐mW DC power from a 0.8‐V supply voltage. The input‐referred third‐order intercept point (I… Show more

“…Non-linear systems present a significant challenge for modeling, analysis, and control because their output cannot be described simply by a linear relationship with the input, and their dynamics may exhibit complex behaviors such as chaos or periodicity. The study of non-linear systems is critical to many fields, including control engineering (Xiao et al, 2017b;Zhou et al, 2022), signal processing (Jin, 2014;Luo and Xie, 2017), dynamics analysis (Tan and Dai, 2016;Tan et al, , 2019aLu et al, 2020), and communication systems (Jin and Yu, 2012;Jin and Fu, 2013;Jin et al, 2015b;Zhao et al, 2020;Xiang et al, 2022), owing to the following properties.…”

“…Generally, two differentiated LO signals are needed in conventional mixers [13][14][15]. Comparatively, by using the B-type amplifier sub-harmonic balun in Figure 1, there will be only one LO signal required in this mixer.…”
