The unique properties of liquids that can interact with electric and magnetic fields are used in mechanical engineering, technology and medicine. The possibility of the influence of the magnetic field on the solid particles of the liquid in the pipeline allows cleaning of the solid walls of the pipeline, which is the object of the study. Magnetic liquids are solutions of ferromagnets in a liquid, and their physical properties in a magnetic field cause structural transformations in such liquids. The treatment of electrically conductive liquids in a magnetic field and their use for cleaning water from oil or oil residues are considered. On the basis of numerical modeling, the movement of solid particles of magnetite, which is part of an electrically conductive liquid, was investigated by jointly solving the equations of Reynolds, Maxwell, non-discontinuity and the turbulence model. The physical phenomena of the movement of solid particles of magnetite-based conductive liquid in various elements of the pipeline were determined, which improved the parameters of cleaning liquids contaminated with oil and oil. The magnetic particles of the electrically conductive liquid quite nicely fill the boundaries of the intersection if there is a flow reversal, as it happens in radiators. An increase in the intensity of the magnetic field leads to a change in the velocity profile of the conductive liquid, which prevents magnetite particles from penetrating close to the wall. An increase in the power of the magnetic field makes it possible to detach the contamination from the walls of the pipeline together with the solid particle of magnetite. A 73 % increase in wear in certain sections of the pipeline is due to the effect of the centrifugal force acting on the particle during rotation. The sudden expansion of the flow makes it difficult for particles to reach the pipe surfaces, which worsens the cleaning conditions. The number of particles on the surface is 82 % less compared to the absence of sudden expansion

The design of the main movement drive for a multioperational machine such as a machining center with a modified design of a gear gearbox is considered. A 3D modelling of the machining center drive mechanism with a portal layout was performed in the integrated computeraided design system KOMPAS-3D. Functional extended range of the C3D Modeler geometric kernel when constructing complex geometry of machine housing parts is proposed to use. The procedure for constructing gear rims with high accuracy and geometrically correct tooth surfaces in the CAD environment was applied. At the stage of forming the shape of the tooth of a multivariate choice of the tooth axial shape, it is possible to implement. A new idea to increase the efficiency of the cylindrical gear transmission of the machine speed box based on the modified tooth profile of the gears with inclined-arched teeth is put forward. An analytical apparatus for calculating the design and choosing the radius of the gear-shaping cutting head with known basic transmission parameters have been formed. A comparative analysis for the calculated values of the axial overlap coefficient in an involute helical spur gear and in a spur gear with inclined-arched teeth is carried out with the same engagement parameters, other conditions being equal. Numerical calculations for the modified version of the engagement with inclined-arched teeth compared with the involute helical gear in terms of load capacity have been shown.

Purpose. To present the results on the possibility of increasing the efficiency of the use of the operated fleet of freight wagons by creating conceptual solutions for the manufacture of their component load-bearing systems from composites. Methodology. To increase the efficiency of using the operating fleet of freight wagons measures are offered on the development of conceptual solutions for the manufacture of their components load-bearing systems made of composites. In order to determine the possibility of service life of the basic structures of the freight wagons, the methodology given in the works by A. V. Afanasyev was used. To study the dynamic loading of the freight wagon with the actual dimensions of the constituent elements, a calculation was made. At the same time, a mathematical model was used, formed by Professor G. I. Bogomaz, taking into account its adaptation to the determination of the dynamic loading. The vertical loading of the load-bearing structure of the freight wagon was also investigated. In this regard, a mathematical model formed by Professor Yu. V. Demin was used. The accelerations obtained in the simulation of dynamic loading were taken into account when calculating the strength of the basic structure of the freight wagon. Findings. It has been established that the design service life of the load-bearing structure of a freight wagon is at least 50 years. The results of determining the longitudinal loading of the basic structures of the freight wagon established that the acceleration acting on it is 37.7 m/s2, and with the vertical one – 5.5 m/s2. The strength calculation of the basic structure of a freight wagon showed that the maximum equivalent stresses are recorded in the zone of interaction of the center beam with the pivot and amount to 333.4 MPa, i.e. do not exceed the permissible values. Originality. The feasibility of manufacturing component load-carrying systems of freight wagons from composites is substantiated. Practical value. The research carried out will contribute to an increase in the efficiency of the use of railway transport, the transportation process through international transport corridors, as well as the creation of developments in the design of multifunctional car structures.
