“…Therefore, the Zr 3p spectrum is preferentially fitted by constraining the peak area ratio of 3p 3 / 2 /3p 1 / 2 to be 2.0 and the binding energy gap between the 3p 3 / 2 and 3p 1 / 2 peaks to be 15 eV in the Zr 3p spectrum. Then, according to the suggestion of Lan and Burange et al, , the Pd 3d spectrum was subjected to peak fitting, and the corresponding analysis results are shown in Table . The XPS peak at BE = 337.0–337.9 eV corresponds to the PdO species, and the XPS peak at BE = 336.4–336.8 eV corresponds to the metal Pd.…”

“…From Table 1, it is seen that the surface concentration of Pt follows a sequence of Pt/Ce/Al100 < Pt/Ce/Al300 < Pt/Ce/Al500, which confirms the hypothesis that for Pt/Ce/Al500, the largest amount of Pt is distributed on the outer surface of the catalyst, and thus more active sites could be provided to facilitate the catalytic reaction process. [ 31 ] For Pt/Ce/Al100 and Pt/Ce/Al300, Pt species are principally or partially embedded into the CeO 2 region, leading to their lower Pt dispersion. In addition, in line with the different Pt distributions, it is noticed that the surface concentration of Ce shows an inverse variation tendency compared with that of Pt.…”

“…In both cases, the addition of the metal and the promoter to the support causes an increase of the tail in the lower frequency side due to a lowering of the Ce-O bond and an increase in intensity of the bands at about 250, 595, and 1175 cm −1 . The increase in intensity of the band at about 595 cm −1 , which encloses contributions due to oxygen vacancies and defects due to changes in cations coordination, shown by the addition of PdCu to the CeO 2 lattice can be attributed to the strong interaction between the supported species and the support [44,47].…”
