Detection of Toxoplasma gondii genotypes in abortion women by RFLP-PCR in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf province

Abstract: The study conducted on 400 aborted women and 30 healthy women as control groups. All these cases were defined as suspected with Toxoplasma gondii and examined by measuring IgG & IgM serum level when attended to Public Health Laboratory, in An-Najaf province from November 2015 to May 2016.seventy eight out of 400 (19.5 %) women were found infected with T. gondii by this test, only 23 positive samples were used in polymerase chain reaction – restriction fragment length polymorphism for detection genotypes of… Show more

“…For placental tissue the results of the present research disagreed with (1) in Iraq for detecting the T. gondii strain genotypes, by using 3 enzymes of restriction to the nested products of the PCR GRA-6 and TaqI and BsiE1 to the products of the nested PCR BTUB, for the detection of the T. gondii strain types. Results are: of type I1 3 (60%), of type II 6 (25 %), and of type III 4 (15%).…”

“…The results in the Table (1) shows the percentage of infections in the placenta and domestic chicken tissue, a result of the placental tissue is (62.5%) and for domestic chicken was (56.9%). The difference between the two infection rates was not significant, The infection rates in the brain, liver, and muscles, were (62.5%), (70.8%) and (58.3%) respectively, however, the differences among these percentages were not significant (p=0.65).as show in table (2).…”

“…The GRA protein continues to be secreted along with the enlargement of the VP and the increase in T. gondii so that the gene encoding the GRA1 protein is often used as a marker for identifying the life of T. gondii both in the tachyzoite and bradyzoite phases [23]. Most investigators have used these genes for detecting strain types of T. gondii [39,40].…”

“…This decrease may be due to the hypermotility of the intestine in humans infected with the Giardia parasite [24] . because its pathogen colonizes the small intestine and can attach to the epithelium but does not invade the mucosa [25] . In addition, gastrointestinal infections inhibited ghrelin production from gastric endocrine cells, leading to lower plasma and gastric mucosal ghrelin levels [26] .…”
