“…Thermosetting epoxy resin (EP)-based composites have been widely used in many fields because of their wide range of advantages, including low weight, relatively high strength, and good chemical resistance. 58 Recently, it is a trend that more and more metal structures have been replaced by lightweight polymer. The Young’s modulus values of thermosetting EPs are an order of magnitude higher than those of photocurable and thermoplastics resins used in commercial 3D printing methods.…”

“…However, these precautions are not very efficient, as the prevalence of epoxy resin allergy is still high . This is clearly shown in a new case–control study on determinants of epoxy allergy in the construction industry in Germany . Approaching the problem from an alternative angle, we have directed a research project towards increasing the understanding of the underlying molecular mechanism of epoxy resin allergy, with the goal of preventing sensitization .…”

“…The likely causes of ACD among rubber workers are exposure to some potent allergens such as para‐phenylenediamine (PPD)‐mix, isopropylaminodiphenylamine, phenylcyclohexyl‐ p ‐phylenediamine, 1,3‐diphenylgluanidine, tetramethylthiuramdisulphide, nickel, black rubber, mercapto‐mix, and epoxy resin, among others 45 . When workers are exposed to epoxy products, there is a high risk of them developing ACD 46 . Also, high incidences of PPD‐derivative sensitization have been reported among men in industries because of the use of heavy‐duty industrial rubber gloves.…”
