“…The Ce/Au weight ratio of the CeO 2 -wrapped Au NPs was determined to be about 1.5 via inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy technology. [35] This value is much smaller than that (2.6) calculated for a dense-CeO 2 -wrapped-Au NP with the same size parameters. This result indicates the presence of pores in the CeO 2 shells.…”

“…Sensitivity for the detection of ammonium and organically bound nitrogen by ICP-AES in natural and waste waters has been improved by the development of a vapour generation method. 150 Ammonia vapour is generated by the addition of concentrated NaOH followed by detection at 174.273 nm using an axial ICP-AES instrument. Detection limits of 10-25 mg L À1 as N were achieved with an analytical precision of between 0.6 and 4.6% RSD for a concentration range of 25-1000 mg L À1 .…”

“…The Sb V is detected after online reduction by HG-ICP-OES during the loading phase, Sb III is then eluted using 2 M HCl and detected without further reduction. For an 8 mL sample a preconcentration factor of 11 was achieved with a LOD of 90 ng L -1 for Sb III and 900 ng L -1 for Sb V ; the sum of Sb III and Sb V was in good agreement with the certified value of Sb for the CRM used and results by ICP-MS analysis of effluent waters.Sensitivity for the detection of ammonium and organically bound nitrogen byICP-AES in natural and waste waters has been improved by the development of a vapour generation method150 . “…To further conrm that the problem was arising from air entrainment, ultra high purity argon gas was used to degas all solutions before their introduction into the ICP, which still resulted in inaccurate and imprecise results. Finally, the procedure of Jaber et al, 20 who performed the quantitative determination of ammonium and organic-bound nitrogen in aqueous and solid samples by ICP-OES through generation of ammonia vapour, reduced the N background signal relative to that arising from samples and standard solutions. Although this improved precision, inaccurate results still resulted.…”
