“…The results in Table (1) show that 0.5 mol L −1 thiourea has the maximum ability to desorb Pd 2+ from RH@MCM-41@ARS. We avoided the use of acids due to its denaturation effects on the sorbent which can decrease its reusability [ 37 ]. Therefore, 0.5 mol L −1 thiourea was used as eluent through the study.…”

“…It also determine the ability of metal ions to bind the active sites on the sorbent surface. 31 The effect of pH on the sorption of Ga 3þ , In 3þ and Tl 3þ onto HBAAS was studied by the batch procedure at pH 1-4. Figure 2 shows that the extraction recovery of metal ions depends on the sample pH.…”

“…In continuation of our previous work in this field, 79,2931 we introduce in this study a procedure for the separation and preconcentration of trace amounts of Ga 3+ , In 3+ and Tl 3+ using amino silica modified with 2-hydroxy-5 -(2-hydroxybenzylideneamino)benzoic acid (HBAAS), prior to their determination by FAAS. The factors affecting the separation process were studied in both batch and column modes.…”

“…For determining the low concentration of Pb in blood serum by flame AAS, Barbosa with coauthors [6] used oxidized carbon nanotubes covered with bovine serum albumin layers; preconcentration was performed in untreated blood serum and allowed getting LOD of Pb at the level of 2 μg/L. Mortada with coauthors [7] suggested hydroxyapatite nanorods prepared from recycled eggshell for solid phase extraction of Pb, Cu and Zn from solutions of different biological samples followed by AAS analysis. In spite of undeniable progress in developing the above-mentioned methods, the analysis of biological samples using solid sampling is very attractive as the analytical procedure is simple and risk of contamination and analyte losses is improbable.…”
