“…The cation‐exchange resin gels for the determination of Hg contained thiol functional groups (i.e., Duolite GT73 and Ambersep GT74; Sigma‐Aldrich) incorporated in a polyacrylamide gel. Resin gels were prepared according to the method of Pelcova et al ().…”

“…For simultaneous measurement of CH 3 Hg + and Hg 2+ species in sediments the Tulsion® CH‐95 binding gel was developed (Ren et al ). In recent years, the new commercially available resin Ambersep GT74 has been investigated in aquatic systems to determine the accumulation of Hg species (Pelcova et al , ). The purpose of the present study was to estimate the availability of Hg in smelter‐impacted agricultural soils in northern France using the DGT technique to obtain a better understanding of Hg lability and subsequent crop uptake.…”

“…The fourth fraction is inorganic phosphate residue. Organic phosphate levels are obtained from the difference in total P levels to the sum of the levels of each fraction [23]. From the data in Table 3, it is shown that the largest phosphorus fraction in the sediments of Bogor Botanical Garden Lake was organic phosphorus and the second largest fraction was phosphorus bound by Fe.…”

“…Previous studies have shown that thiomersal reacts with commonly used sulfur containing ion pair reagents used in HPLC for Hg speciation, e.g. 150 The DGTFs were prepared using a cation exchange resin, either Duolite GT73 or Ambersep GT74 each of which contain thiol functional groups, acrylamide and agarose with full details given in the paper. To avoid this decomposition a step gradient elution, with a mobile phase of 0.1% formic acid for 5 min to allow the thiomersal to elute, followed by 0.1% formic acid + 0.1% 2-mercaptoethanol for 10 min, both at 1.0 mL min À1 , was used.…”
