“…The effective diffusion coefficient of Pluronic F68 is reported as 1.9×10 [35]. Since the loading of the interface with surfactant is directly proportional to the effective diffusion coefficient [33], it will take longer for Pluronic F68 molecules to stabilise the forming oil droplet which may also explain the larger diameters presented in Fig.…”

“…The same tendency was observed for SDS where its hydrodynamic radius increased from 2.1 to 2.6 nm. This observation can be related to the fact that BPEA is a much larger molecule than 1-methylnaphtalene, having a molecular length of approximately 2 nm (Luschtinetz and Dosche, 2009) and can probably have an influence on the micelle size, especially when the micelles are small. In the present work, the expected size (5-100 nm in radius) of the microdroplets is relatively larger than the size of the aforementioned surfactant systems, thus the effect of the fluorescent marker on the micelle size is relatively small as discussed later.…”

“…The ability of Labrasol 1 to form coacervates at low concentrations (Fernandez et al, 2013), led to the use of a fluorescence detector with 9,10-bis(phenylethynyl) anthracene as a fluorescent hydrophobic marker. The use of this marker in FCS for the determination of the size of Tween 1 was described by Luschtinetz et al (Luschtinetz and Dosche, 2009) who obtained excellent results with this marker. The results obtained by TDA will be compared to DLS with a presentation of the size evolution as a function of concentration and temperature.…”

“…As a consequence, the diffusion coefficients related to the signals of Tween20 can all be dedicated to Tween20 micelles. In to the reported hydrodynamic diameter of 6 to 7 nm for Tween20 in water at 21 °C obtained by both FCS and PCS [21]. According to Rosen [7], a (limited) increase of the aggregation number of the micelles of ethoxylated non-ionic surfactants with increasing temperature is possible.…”
