Determination of nitrobenzenes and nitrochlorobenzenes in water samples using dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry

Abstract: A rapid and sensitive method was developed for the determination of eight nitrobenzenes and four nitrochlorobenzenes in water. The method is based on dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The key factors influencing the extraction efficiencies, including the nature and volume of the extraction and dispersion solvent and the ratios of the extraction solvent and dispersion solvent were examined and optimized. Under the optimized conditions, the… Show more

“…Nitrobenzene compounds are important chemical raw materials and have been widely used in medicine, pesticides, industrial dyes, and chemical production. [1][2][3][4] Because of their own toxicity and hardto-degrade nature, nitrobenzene compounds have caused great harm to organisms and the environment. Nitrobenzene compounds are also widely used in the military eld.…”

“…The compound ortho-nitrochlorobenzene (o-NCB) is a known human carcinogen, and is also associated with splenomegaly and cardiovascular diseases (Xu et al, 2014;Zhang et al, 2011). Even so, this chemical is widely used in industrial water systems to prevent the formation of slime.…”
