Determination of Paraneoplastic neuropathy in newly diagnosed breast tumor patients

Abstract: Objective The presence of paraneoplastic neuropathy in newly diagnosed breast tumor patients will be investigated. Aim of study is conduce of early diagnosis of the disease and new biomarkers responsible for the pathogenesis to be identify. Materials and Methods Thirty-two patients admitted to the Oncology outpatient clinic with newly diagnosed breast cancer were included in the study. After the neurological examination of the patients, Lanss neuropathic pain scale and … Show more

“…the diagnosis of paraneoplastic neuropathy is still on clinical criteria. Electromyography (EMG) is rarely helpful in determining the etiology or documentation of paraneoplastic peripheral neuropathy; in one recent study, only two of 32 (6%) patients had abnormal EMG findings [ 16 ]. We could find no other cases in the medical literature treated with Scrambler Therapy.…”

“…Anti-retrovirals and anti-tuberculosis drugs, such as isoniazid are known culprits [ 32 ]. In addition, paraneoplastic neuropathies are worth determining as this might lead to an early diagnosis of a tumor [ 33 ].…”

“…This probe has demonstrated efficacy in illuminating PNI in preclinical pancreatic cancer models, thereby enhancing the prospects for NIRF-assisted pancreatic surgeries, especially in patients with PNI. Additionally, nerve conduction studies and electromyography (EMG) may offer indirect indications of PNI by detecting nerve function anomalies [32]. Accurate detection of PNI is paramount, underscoring the necessity for the advancement and refinement of diagnostic methods and technologies.…”

“…The predominant hurdles in utilizing ncRNAs for diagnostic and prognostic purposes are the lack of widely endorsed protocols for their isolation and quantification, as well as a lack of consensus on methods for data interpretation [19,21,26]. Recent advancements in technologies such as RNA sequencing, quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR), alongside improvements in imaging and biopsy techniques, have significantly boosted our ability to detect and measure ncRNAs with remarkable sensitivity and precision [29,31,32,94]. However, in spite of these innovations, the direct application of ncRNAs as clinical tools for cancer diagnostics and prognostication, particularly with regard to PNI, is still in its developmental stages.…”
