Determining Roughness Angle of Limestone Using Optical Laser Scanner

Abstract: In this study, a limestone rock core specimen with 6.94 cm x 4.95 cm dimensions was exposed to tensile force by Brazilian test and rough surfaces were obtained. Following the Brazilian test, roughness angles were measured by a laser scanner along one side of the rock specimen. For this purpose, Nextengine 3D Desktop scanner was used. The 17 profiles were studied along the width of the core with a 0.3 mm interval. Approximately 10000 points produced for each profile, some of them are in the "+" and some are in … Show more

“…Geodetic measurements and analysis have been developed in geodetic terrestrial measuring instruments with developments in technology (Avşar, et al, 2016). Geodetic instruments such as Total Station, Precision Laser, Laser Scanner are used for monitoring tunnel deformations as in underground engineering structures (Martisek & Prochazkova, 2018).…”

“…Actively, as a source of energy for photosyhthesis, photosynthesizing leaves absorb the red wavelenghts (LANDSAT TM band 3) and reflect the short-wave infrared (LANDSAT TM band 4). The diffrence between the two is proportional to the amount of photosysthesis (Parodi, 2002;Schreiber, 2006;Gazioğlu, et al, 2014;İslam, et al, 2016;Gazioğlu, et al 2016;Avşar, et al, 2016;Osgouei and Kaya, 2017;Kaya et al, 2017). NDVI is unaffected by band sharpening since the relative contributions of the near-infrared and red bands remain unchanged by the fusion method (Wiemker, 1998).…”

“…Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS) are tools which can be used to investigate and map areas that are vulnerable to flooding in conjunction with forecasting techniques. These are to predict the precipitation intensity and duration in a futuristic view (Avşar et al, 2016;Aderoju et al, 2012).…”
