Developing a Constructivist Model for Effective Physics Learning

Abstract: The paper considered developing a constructivist model for effective physics teaching. The model is imperative because of the increasing difficulty in learning physics and the resulting poor academic performance in the subject. The paper reviewed two types of constructivism which are the social and cognitive constructivism. Highlights of correlations between the constructivist learning and the authentic learning were revealed. To applying the model to physics learning, it was argued that constructivist teacher… Show more

“…Constructivism learning theory defines instruction as the process of presenting students with learning situations, environments, and tasks that accurately reflect the inherent complexities of the real world. These techniques assist students in producing abstractions and learning concepts in a meaningful way (Kola, 2017). Engineering students are able to interact with the everyday electromagnetic materials and equipment thanks to the instructional intervention in the current study.…”

“…The key to the success of physics lesson lies in an effective learning approach. Achieving learning objectives can be easily done if educators focused on things that students did not understand or prior Farchan Oktavianto Pribadi / Certainty of Response Index-based E-Diagnostics Assisted by Google Forms to Identify Misconceptions in Simple Harmonic Waves knowledge of students (Aina, 2017;Amelia et al, 2016). In addition, correcting misconceptions that occur in students is the key to the success of learning.…”

“…Learning in constructivism encourages students to think critically [22]. The constructivism learning model is effective for learning Physics and forming scientific attitudes [23]. Proper paradigms of teaching and learning and design models can now be supported by consumer technology to implement constructivism learning theory [24].…”
