“…The measured endoDPT x-ray sensor MTF shown in figure 5(a) was consistent with other studies using dental sensors and opaque edge MTF phantoms [37-40. ] In particular, this result showed good agreement with the study by Kim et al [39]. using a similar scintillation dental x-ray sensor (22 mm pixels) with the measured x-ray sensor MTF falling to 90%, 50%, and 10% magnitudes at -0.25 mm , with the improved resolution in endoDPT most likely due to the smaller x-ray sensor detection element size and reduced focal spot blurring from a large SID.…”

“…This result demonstrated the x-ray sensor's high in-plane resolution when used in endoDPT geometry with long SID. As dental imaging is well known to provide very high resolution images compared to typical body imaging [37][38][39][40], this result indicated that the collected data in an endoDPT scan (two-dimensional projection images) will have similar high resolution. This high spatial resolution will provide advantages for imaging small structures in the prostate such as LDRBT seeds; the clinical significance of improved LDRBT seed imaging is discussed below in the paragraphs regarding the canine prostate specimens implanted with LDRBT seeds.…”
