Development of a haptic virtual environment

Abstract: Haptics is a technology that creates a sense of touch in a multi-modal media. The availability of force feedback, haptics, requires the formation of haptic virtual objects. To aid in the creation of the haptic objects we have developed G 2 H, an interface between a commercial graphics and animation software package and the PHANToM haptic device. G 2 H is a modifier type plug-in that can be applied to any virtual object (created or imported). Application of the modifier converts objects into haptic objects. The… Show more

“…All about the interactivity that considered as the most important aim to be accomplished in the course of games that based on the virtual reality environment. [19] Believed that the main component that makes the 3D Virtual Human animation realistic, possibly will be walking as real, feeling as real, acting as real, gaze moving as real and talking as real. Currently, in the course of 3D Virtual Human animation in gaming domain the 3D Virtual Human come into sight to be quite real like, however there are still existing barriers in expressing emotions of 3D Virtual Human in depth.…”

“…Virtual human (avatar) has been studied often in recent times. Previous researches add human emotion from visual (facial expression) or sound effect to show behaviour of virtual human in virtual environment [12,13,14]. Touch gives a better opportunity to put on virtual human and add his ability to imitate real human due to haptic that can give bilateral exchange from physical world to virtual environment.…”
