Development of a Scale for Students in Evaluating 2017 Information Technology and Software Curriculum

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to develop a valid and reliable instrument measuring the views of secondary school 5 th grade students on the curriculum of 2017 Information Technology and Software (ITS) course. The study was carried out with 528 5 th grade students (15 for pilot application, 320 for exploratory factor analysis (EFA), 203 for confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) studying in the spring semester of 2017-2018 school year. Implementation of the scale was realized with participants who were determined t… Show more

“…The total number of students participating in the research was 860 (408 women, 395 men). The data obtained from the study were collected with the "2017 Information Technologies and Software Course Curriculum Evaluation Student Scale" (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.94) consisting of 30 items in 5-point likert type developed by Kuzu Demir ve Gündüz (2019). In the analysis of the data, both descriptive statistics such as percentage, frequency, mean and standard deviation and parametric and non-parametric inferential statistics such as one sample t-test, independent samples t-test and Kruskal Wallis H test were used.…”

“…The declaration of the model to fit the overall using the GOF indices led to the evaluation of each construct's convergent validity. The specific SFL criteria used was 0.45 concerning the sample size [21], [38]. The results are shown in Table 3 3 shows that the estimated loading factor values exceed the recommended values.…”
