The first TiO2-based memristor was implemented in 2008 by HP company in Nano-scale to present the predictable behavior of the memristor and voltage-current (V-I) hysteresis curve. Many aspects of this device are unknown yet and having an accurate model can help to control the voltage and current of this device. For this purpose, some of electronic-based soft wares can help like PSPICE or Workbench. This paper is modeling the resistive behavior of this component with non-linear ionic deviance of the TiO2 by simple codes in MATLAB to be controlled by voltage or current. Some of the simulation results are presented with model adjustments for the specifications of this component.

Recently, handwriting recognition has found many application areas along with technological advances. Handwriting recognition systems can greatly simplify human life by reading tax returns, forwarding mail, reading bank checks, and so on. On the other hand, these systems can reduce the need for human interaction. Therefore, academic and commercial studies of handwriting characters have recently become an important research topic in pattern recognition. In this study, Turkish handwritten letter recognition system from A to Z was developed in C++ environment by using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). After the feature data were extracted, handwriting images were presented to the network, the training process of ANN was completed, and different handwriting images were classified with trained ANN. In this study, MLP (Multi-Layered Perceptron: MLP) type ANN and back-propagation learning algorithm were used. The ANN used has 35 inputs and 23 outputs. In the hidden layer, ANNs with different numbers of artificial neural cells (neurons) were evaluated and the most appropriate neural number ANN was selected. As a result, ANN with 24 neurons was selected in the hidden layer and handwriting images was classified with an accuracy rate of 94.90 %.

Smart home is an intelligent home network whose services and infrastructure are based information and communication technology. It is an intelligent use of wireless technology for the implementation of automated home electrical/electronic appliances and devices, domestic tasks, and security devices, for the wellbeing of the occupant. However, the development of smart homes has focused mainly on building for the young and able-bodied persons for the purpose of enhancing home comfort, energy saving, and security, without considering the aged and disabled persons in Africa. The Smart Home System were implemented in existing home environments, with the automation focusing on recognition of voice commands and uses low-power RF wireless communication modules along with a microcontroller for message passing. The system consists of voice recognition module for voice input and recognition. The control signal of the recognized command is transmitted to the microcontroller, and the microcontroller uses this signal to control home appliances. The designed system was tested and the result showed that the level of system response is higher in dead home than in a live home, hence, the system performance is affected by the environmental noise and the accents of untrained aged persons are not supported by it. This system is most suitable for the aged and the disabled persons living alone and is intended to control all lights and electrical appliances inside a house using voice commands. In this work a home automation control system based on voice recognition was designed, implemented and experimental tests done and results were obtained.
