Development of an intelligent system based on metaverse learning for students with disabilities

Abstract: Due to the coronavirus-2019 pandemic, people have had to work and study using the Internet such that the strengthened metaverse has become a part of the lives of people worldwide. The advent of technology linking the real and virtual worlds has facilitated the transmission of spatial audio and haptics to allow the metaverse to offer multisensory experiences in diverse fields, especially in teaching. The main idea of the proposed project is the development of a simple intelligent system for meta-learning. The s… Show more

“…Regarding the collaboration, the basic capabilities are the same as those evaluated here and the additional ones will be the subject of future experimentation. While 3D VLE included in contemporary Metaverse-oriented studies [34][35][36] suggest that desktop VR is a legitimate setting from this perspective, the immersive one is clearly preferred. Here, it may be interesting to compare the performance and experience when carrying out the tasks with VR headsets (immersive) to the desktop VR.…”

“…On the other hand, however, the younger generations (digital natives) require the adoption of tools and methodologies beyond the traditional frontal lesson [92]. Therefore, from the analysis it emerges that especially in academies (places of excellence of knowledge) it is worth exploring what technology offers today for education, because Web3, even more than Web2, presents great opportunities for those who want to learn [93,94]. In fact, students can follow the lesson wherever they are, but without losing the perception of being in the place assigned to learning [95].…”

“…Ultimately, our objective is to create a Metaverse that embraces diversity and affords equal opportunities for all individuals to interact, connect, and thrive. Previous research has explored various aspects of the Metaverse, including its technological infrastructure, user experience, and social implications [22,23]. Despite the growing interest in the Metaverse, there is a lack of research on accessibility and inclusion in this virtual world.…”

“…It has also been studied in education, focusing on topics like roadmaps, dimensions, training, current initiatives, and data [31]. The Metaverse can be used in education for people with disabilities by integrating various information technologies into smart education ecosystems, forming new education modes like virtuality-reality symbiosis, trans-spatial fusion, and collaborative inquiry [22], while also enabling technologies like extended reality and the internet of everything to impact educational services [32]. The Metaverse is a social ecosystem that interconnects the physical and virtual realms, thereby eliciting inquiries about identity, privacy, and security [33].…”
