Development of Highly Durable Ni-MH Batteries through Introduction of Highly Conductive Co Compound-Coated Ni (OH) 2 Technology

Abstract: Cells using highly conductive Co compound-coated Ni(OH)2 have good recovery characteristics after being connected to resistance. As a result of our investigation, by using synchrotron X-ray analysis (XAS, XRD), we can confirm the difference between convention material and highly conductive Co compound coated Ni(OH)2 in the cell. Through X-ray absorption it has been confirmed that the valence of the Co compound layer in the cell after charge and discharge is clearly higher than in a cell with a standard CoOOH l… Show more

“…Electrification in transportation plays an essential role in decarbonization for reducing carbon discharge from the transportation sector by 2030 target. This process will be unreachable unless many researchers pay particular attention to CO2 emission reduction and different greenhouse gases (GHG), see [1]. Today, internal combustion engine (ICE) replacement with electrical machines [2] provides a significantly higher efficiency and is targeted worldwide, as the electrical machines can offer above 90% efficiency, while the ICE's median efficiency rate is 30% [3].…”
