Development of ic-ELISAs for the Detection of Bisphenol A Diglycidyl Ether and Its Derivatives in Canned Luncheon Meats

Abstract: Canned foods are widely consumed because of their convenience, hygiene, and nutrition. Bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (BADGE), an industrial product of epichlorohydrin and bisphenol A, widely exists in the inner coating of canned foods. A hydrolysis or chlorination reaction of BADGE can occur in the process of storage, forming a variety of derivatives such as bisphenol A (2,3dihydroxypropyl) glycidyl ether (BADGE•H 2 O), bisphenol A (3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl) glycidyl ether (BADGE•HCl), and bisphenol A (3-chloro… Show more

“…In contrast, the GC technique implied that a derivatization process can simultaneously determine all studied compounds with sufficient repeatability and accuracy [42]. Moreover, an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique was established for the determination of BPA and its analogs in several studies [43]. The main advantages of these detectors include their high selectivity, high sensitivity, and universality [42].…”
