Development of Lateral Flow Immunochromatographic Assays Using Colloidal Au Sphere and Nanorods as Signal Marker for the Determination of Zearalenone in Cereals

Abstract: This paper describes the development of lateral flow immunochromatographic assays (ICAs) using colloidal Au sphere (SP) and nanorods (NRs) as signal markers for the determination of zearalenone (ZEN) in cereals. The developed ICAs can detect the analyte ZEN within a short time (10 min), and achieve lower limit of detection (LOD). This is the first time that the AuNRs are used as signal probe in immune test strip for ZEN detection. For colloidal AuSP immunochromatographic analysis (AuSP-ICA), the LODs in soluti… Show more

“…It has been applied in a wide range of applications, including drug and pathogen detection. 18,22,[27][28][29][30] In this study, we presented the principle of a solid-phase LFIA strip (LFIAs) consisting of fixing SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein to the surface of the cassette and coupling antihuman IgG with colloidal gold particles. Its performance was evaluated by comparing the results of the LFIAs to those of the molecular assay.…”

“…Immunochromatographic test strips (ICTS) have unparalleled advantages in rapid, low-cost testing and screening of large numbers of samples [151]. With the help of the fluorescent properties of CQDs, fluorescent ICTS can be developed for the analysis and detection of mycotoxins.…”

“…Colloidal gold based lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) is one of the most popular screening tools for on-site bio-detection by the naked-eye because of its advantages, such as simplicity, convenience, rapidity, and low cost [ 1 , 2 ]. For the conventional LFIA, the presence of a red band in the detection line depends on the sufficient gold nanoparticle (AuNP) accumulation [ 3 ].…”
