The Indonesia government has begun to focus and pay attention to the quality of education in Islamic Boarding School. Education is a provision for the future to create quality human resources. Education is strongly linked to the 21st century, where education has rapidly developed in science and technology to generate worldwide competitiveness. Students' higher-order thinking skills are fundamental, where this thinking ability is an ability to understand and find solutions to problems in varied and different ways. An appropriate learning approach must support Higher-order thinking skills. Higher-order thinking skills are intelligence with specific knowledge that leads to reasoning, analytical skills, problem-solving, and critical and creative thinking skills. Higher-order thinking skills are the major objective of educational institutions in implementing education that uses a quasi-experiment. Participants consisted of Islamic Boarding School students, ten male- and ten female students. A STEM-based video is a learning approach that can help students analyze, solve problems, investigate a phenomenon, create skills in students, and produce higher-order thinking skills. This study's STEM-based Video approach process is designed to solve functional mathematics problems in real life concerning geometry.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengobservasi proses pembelajaran di Sekolah dimana guru harus mampu menyiapkan strategi dan model pembelajaran yang baru. Dengan kata lain kegiatan pembelajaran untuk saat ini tidak lagi pembelajaran berpusat pada guru, akan tetapi lebih berpusat kepada siswa. Pembelajaran berpusat kepada siswa akan membuat siswa lebih aktif dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Melihat kondisi ini peran guru tidak hanya diam tetapi menjadi fasilitator yang tetap memberikan ilmu dan pengetahuan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kualitatif yang menggunakan pendekatan field Research dimana peneliti mengamati dan berpartisipasi secara langsung dalam penelitian skala sosial kecil dan mengamati proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Peneliti secara langsung mengadakan pengamatan untuk memperoleh informasi yang diperlukan dalam penyusunan hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian didapati menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis pada aktivitas siswa dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, diantaranya; a) Penggunaan model Small Group Disucssion secara signifikan memberikan pengaruh terhadap mata pelajaran PAI. Teknik yang digunakan dengan membuat diskusi kelompok kecil antar peserta didik, serta menyampaikan hasil dari diskusi kelompoknya. b) Faktor Guru itu sendiri sebagai fasilitator. c) Faktor sarana dan infrastruktur yang sesuai sehingga memudahkan peserta didik pada saat melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran

A systematic review of transparency in Lesson Study research: how do we report on the observation and reflection stages?

Lesson Study is a method of professional development for teachers that has gained traction in recent decades. However, publications routinely fail to describe crucial details of the implementation or to link the mechanisms that facilitate teachers learning in Lesson Study to theory. This makes it difficult to meaningfully synthesize and replicate research findings. Using a protocol based on three dimensions of transparency, this systematic review examines 129 articles on Lesson Study published between 2015 and 2020 to identify how transparent they were in their reporting of how teachers observed and reflected together. The findings indicate a lack of transparency across several dimensions of how the Lesson Study intervention is reported and highlight a current lack of theorization and coherence in the field. To address some of these issues, we propose a framing structure that empirical papers on Lesson Study should give critical attention to in order to ensure relevance and transferability.
