Abstract:The catfishes Brachyplatystoma filamentosum (Kumakuma), Brachyplatystoma vaillantii (Laulao catfish), and Brachyplatystoma rousseauxii (gilded catfish) are important fishery resources in Brazil, where they are sold both fresh and in the form of fillets or steaks.
