Key Clinical MessageAs we have stated formerly, the distinct and classic acromegalic features and the patient's past medical history were highly suggestive of acromegaly, which was established later. Female gender, obesity, hirsutism, amenorrhea, acromegalic features, and a positive family history of diabetes in a patient complaining of an acute headache or visual disturbance should prompt clinicians to this diagnosis.
