“…While IESP has no known etiology, secondary sclerosing encapsulating peritonitis has been associated with peritoneal dialysis, recurrent peritonitis, luteinized thecomas, abdominal tuberculosis, autoimmune diseases and several other causes [3–5]. Preoperative diagnosis is difficult, owing to disease rarity, nonspecific imaging findings and its varied clinical presentation, which may range from abdominal pain to small bowel obstruction [3, 6].
