Dichloroisocoumarins with Potential Anti-Inflammatory Activity from the Mangrove Endophytic Fungus Ascomycota sp. CYSK-4

Abstract: Three new isocoumarins—dichlorodiaportintone (1), desmethyldichlorodiaportintone (2) and desmethyldichlorodiaportinol (3)—as well as six known analogues (4–9) were isolated from the culture of the mangrove endophytic fungus Ascomycota sp. CYSK-4 from Pluchea indica. Their structures were elucidated by analysis of spectroscopic data. The absolute configuration of compounds 1 and 2 were determined by the modified Mosher’s method. Compound 2 showed significant anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting the producti… Show more

“…Optical density measurement for bacteria and fungus was recorded at 620 nm after incubation at 37 °C for 12 and 24 h, respectively. The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) was defined as the concentration at which the growth was inhibited 80% of the tested microorganisms [35].…”

“…New isocoumarins were also isolated from mangrove micromycete Ascomycota sp. [136], endophyte Pluchea indica. This strain was the source of three new isocoumarins, i.e., dichlorodiaportin (116), desmethyldichlorodiaportin (117), and desmethyldichlorodiaportinol (114), along with several other well-known analogs, i.e., dichlorodiaportinol (115) [137], desmethyldichlorodiaportin (119) [138], and dichlorodiaportin (120) [139,140].…”
