Digestive system and growth performance of African catfish larvae Clarias gariepinus, (Burchell, 1822) maintained with biofloc technology with the addition of Chlorella sp.

Abstract: The production of catfish in aquaculture is still limited by the low supply of good quality seeds. One solution that can be done to overcome this problem is by the application of biofloc technology with microalgae addition. This study aims to evaluate the performance of digestive system, growth and robustness of the African catfish larvae maintained with biofloc technology and the addition of Chlorella sp. This research applied a completely randomized experimental design consisted of three treatments and tripl… Show more

“…Similarly, the study conducted by Hamzah et al (2012) on juvenile grouper given selenium at different doses resulted in a not significantly different feed consumption between treatments. Moreover, the results obtained by Hasrah et al (2016) in catfish given organic selenium supplementation in the form of selenomethionine at different levels indicated that the amount of feed consumption was not significantly different both in catfish given low and high doses of selenium.…”

“…Microminerals are essential micronutrients in the feed that are also needed in the growth process (Hasrah et al, 2016). Selenium as an important micromineral is required in small amounts in the body but affects the metabolism and health of aquaculture organisms (Faiz, 2021;Suprayudi et al, 2013).…”

“…Jumlah flok dalam wadah budidaya akan berkurang seiring dengan meningkatnya nafsu makan dan pertumbuhan ikan sehingga ketersediaan flok harus tetap terjaga. Pembentukan bioflok dalam budidaya harus terjadi secara periodik agar kondisi rasio C/N berada pada nilai 15:1 (Utomo, 2015). Pemberian sumber karbon molase pada media pemeliharaan umumnya dilakukan satu kali sehari selama pemeliharaan.…”
