Digital back-propagation for unrepeatered transmission

Abstract: Unrepeatered transmission has seen a substantial advance in recent years, largely due to the development of advanced optical fibers and amplifier technologies. Here, the potential, limitations and practicalities of digital nonlinearity compensation to build on this development are explored.
