“…The normal anatomy of penile lymphatics (Lockhart et al, 1965) has not been studied by us but we made one unsuccessful attempt to inject contrast medium for radiography into the lumen of a lesion. Lymphography has been used in studies of other penile conditions (Jantet, 1962;Janca, 1972) and study of BTLP by this method is indicated.…”

“…The same formula can of course be used to calculate the dose actually received by the nodes in patients in whom it might be possible to remove the nodes, weigh them, and measure their radioactivity. In a previous publication (Jantet, 1962) we described the results in two patients in whom the nodes could be removed, weighed, and their activity measured. After injections of 30 mc 198Au into each leg, estimated levels of 26,500 and 35,000 rads were obtained in certain selected points in the excised inguinal nodes.…”

“…Some patients showed concentration of activity in nodes near the termination of the thoracic duct. Diagrams typical of the distribution have been published (Jantet, 1962).…”

“…In view of several recent publications on the subject of intra-lymphatic chemotherapy (Jantet, 1962;Schwartz, Greenlaw, Rob and Rubin, 1962;Ariel and Resnick, 1964) an investigation was carried out to determine whether access to the tumour via the lymphatic system was superior to the arterial approach, but once again an uneven uptake of dye was observed.…”
