Discovering spatial interaction patterns of near repeat crime by spatial association rules mining

Abstract: Urban crime incidents always exhibit a structure of spatio-temporal dependence. Exploration of the spatio-temporal interactions of crime incidents is critical to understanding the occurrence mechanism and spatial transmission characteristics of crime occurrences, therefore facilitating the determination of policing practices. Although previous researches have repeatedly demonstrated that the crime incidents are spatially clustered, the anisotropic characteristics of spatial interaction has not been fully consi… Show more

“…Previous studies have shown that pain and discomfort and neuroendocrine changes caused by chronic diseases cause changes in the transmitters of the central nervous system, thereby inducing the depression. Basically all patients with chronic diseases are accompanied by varying degrees of mental dysfunction, and the most frequent occurrence is depression [24][25][26]. All in all, mental illnesses and CKD recovery interact with each other.…”

“…It is widely used in the identification of near-repeat crimes, but the selection of spatial and temporal scales is relatively arbitrary without clear criteria. Recently, the spatial association rules mining has been innovatively applied to analyze the spatial interactions of near-repeat crimes [41]. It can delineate the anisotropic features of the spatial interaction, while it focuses more on the spatial than the temporal dimension.…”

“…Understanding the spatial pattern of crime is the first step for crime analysis and crime prevention. The basic objective of spatial crime pattern analysis is to find spatial patterns of crime distribution and then use these patterns to help identify the root causes of the crimes and generate strategies for crime prevention [21,22]. One aim of crime distribution pattern analysis is to figure out the spatial dependence structure of crime occurrence.…”
