The authors have studied a new method to find parameters of broadband power line communication channel model. Lossless power line communication channel model is compared with classical interferometers approach to develop this model. The authors also used coaxial cables to simulate a multipath channel, because it can behave like a lossless power line communication channel. Thus, measurements were carried out with a network analyzer to find S parameters. The modeling parameters, for the multipath model were found after using MATLAB software and classical interferometers approach. Then, theoretical and experimental results are presented and compared. received the BS degree in Eletrical Electronic Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Recife, Brazil, in 2006. In 2008 he received the MS degree also in Electrical Engineering at the same University, where his dissertation focused on Power Line Communication. His present research interests include the modeling of BPLC channel and evaluation of the performance of BPLC in transmitting voice, video and data. Marcos T. de Melo received the BS in Physics from the Federal University of Pernambuco-UFPE, Brazil, in 1983. Continuing his studies at the same university he received the MS degree also in Physics in 1992, where his dissertation focused on Microwave Absorption on Superconducting Samples. In 1997, he received the PhD degree from Birmingham University, England, where his thesis focused on High Temperature Superconducting Devices. In 1999, he joined the Department of Electronics and Systems, UFPE. His present research interests include the design and fabrication of coplanar structures in microwave frequencies, like resonator, power divider, filter, delay line, instantaneous frequency measurement systems, superconducting transmission line, power line communication and also dielectric properties in terahertz.
